AI Brand Monitoring Service Cost: Budget by Company Size

AI brand monitoring service cost falls into four budget bands. Solo founders start at $0 with free checks plus tools from $25 to $49 a month. SMB marketing teams typically pay $79 to $199. Agencies managing several brands budget $199 to $299 for workspaces and seats. Enterprises get custom, demo-gated quotes, in some cases with 12-month minimum contracts. Every price in this post comes from the vendor's public pricing page, checked on 13 July 2026.

Two caveats before the band-by-band detail. LLM Pulse and SE Ranking price in euros, and SE Ranking's EUR 79 AI Search add-on requires a base plan (Core, EUR 109 monthly), so its real entry cost is around EUR 188 a month. Profound and Writesonic display annual-billed prices, so the figure you see is not what a month-to-month buyer pays.

    Band 1: solo founders ($0 to $49 a month)

At this level you are tracking one brand on a small prompt set. Start free: Honeyb, our platform, offers a free AI visibility check, and Athena runs a free 10-minute audit. For continuous tracking, Honeyb Minimum is $29 for 10 prompts scanned daily on 1 model, Athena Essential is $25 for 300 credits across 5 models, Otterly Lite is $29 monthly ($25 annual) for 15 prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, and Sight Starter is $49 for 10 prompts across five engines with 1 seat. All figures are from pricing pages on 13 July 2026.

Band 2: SMB marketing teams ($79 to $199 a month)

This band buys the prompt volume a real category needs, plus multi-engine coverage. Honeyb Multi-Model, our mid tier, is $79 for 50 prompts scanned daily across 3 models, 5 workspaces and unlimited seats, with a 7-day trial. Dageno Starter is $79 for 50 prompts on 3 platforms with 5 seats. Writesonic's GEO Starter displays at $79 annual-billed for 50 prompts daily with 1 seat. LLM Pulse Growth is EUR 99 for 150 prompts. Sight Pro is $129 for 50 prompts and 2 seats, Otterly Standard is $189 ($160 annual) for 100 prompts with API access, and Semrush bundles AI visibility from its $199 Starter plan without stating prompt counts. Our comparison of the best AI brand monitoring tools covers what separates them beyond price.

    Band 3: agencies and multi-brand teams ($199 to $299 a month)

Agencies pay for structure, not just volume: separate workspaces per client and seats for the whole team. Honeyb Full Spectrum, our top self-serve tier, is $249 for 100 prompts scanned daily across all 8 engines and 10 workspaces. Athena Starter is $295 for 3,600 credits across 9 models with unlimited seats. Siftly Starter is $299 but is an AI-shopping niche tool covering 3 products on 3 engines. Watch per-site fees when comparing: Sight charges $29 a month for each extra site, so a five-client roster changes the arithmetic quickly. Profound Growth sits just above this band at $399, billed annually.

    Band 4: enterprise (custom, demo-gated)

Above roughly $1,000 a month, published pricing disappears. Brandwatch is fully demo-gated with no public prices, Talkwalker quotes custom only, and Meltwater is demo-only with tailored pricing and stated 12-month minimum contracts. All three are legacy media and social-listening suites that predate AI answer tracking. Semrush gates its Enterprise AIO product behind a demo as well. For scale reference points among AI-native vendors, Sight Premium is $999 for 500 prompts, and Profound has raised over $155M and serves roughly 10% of the Fortune 500 with SOC 2 Type II compliance. Honeyb Enterprise, our custom tier, is quoted per deployment.

The DIY maths: why manual checking costs more than $29

The tempting alternative is to skip the subscription and ask the chatbots yourself. The volume alone makes this a bad trade. Matching what a $29 entry plan automates means running 10 prompts a day, and covering four engines by hand means reading, extracting and logging 40 answers a day. Each answer in our measurement contained 4.8 to 5.2 brands to record.

ApproachAnswers to review per monthMonthly cost

    Manual, 10 prompts x 4 engines, daily1,200Your hours
    Honeyb Minimum (ours), 10 prompts daily, 1 model300, automated$29
    Honeyb Multi-Model (ours), 50 prompts daily, 3 models4,500, automated$79

Volume is only half the problem. Reliability is the other half. In our 13 July 2026 measurement, 20 buyer prompts run three times each across four engines (240 answers), the top-recommended brand changed between identical runs 44% of the time on Gemini, 43% on Perplexity, 35% on ChatGPT and 28% on Claude. SparkToro reports the same AI query changes around 70% of the time. A single manual check is one draw from a volatile distribution, which is why spot-checking fails as a monitoring method.

    Top-pick change rate

How often the top recommendation changes between identical runs

Share of consecutive identical prompt runs where the engine's number-one recommended brand changed: Gemini 44%, Perplexity 43%, ChatGPT 35%, Claude 28%. Honeyb measurement, 13 July 2026: 20 buyer-intent prompts, 3 runs each, via API (gpt-5-mini, gemini-2.5-flash, claude-haiku-4-5, sonar).

    How to set your budget

Pick the band that matches your structure, not your ambition. A founder tracking one brand does not need workspaces. An agency without per-client workspaces will outgrow a cheap plan in a month. Whatever the band, insist on repeated daily sampling rather than one-off checks, because the run-to-run variance above applies at every price point. Once tracking is live, the number to manage is AI share of voice against your named competitors.

    Frequently asked questions

How much does an AI brand monitoring service cost for a small business?

Budget $79 to $199 a month. On pricing pages checked 13 July 2026: Honeyb Multi-Model (our platform) is $79 for 50 prompts scanned daily across 3 models with unlimited seats, Dageno Starter is $79 for 50 prompts on 3 platforms, Sight Pro is $129, and Otterly Standard is $189 for 100 prompts.

Can I monitor my brand in AI answers for free?

You can get a free snapshot but not free continuous tracking. Honeyb (ours) offers a free AI visibility check and Athena a free 10-minute audit. Most paid tools add trials: Honeyb 7 days on Multi-Model and Full Spectrum, Otterly and Dageno free trials, Writesonic no card required. A one-off check is a snapshot only, since top picks change 28% to 44% between identical runs in our measurement.

Why not just ask ChatGPT and Gemini manually every week?

Two reasons: volume and variance. Covering 10 prompts across four engines daily means logging 1,200 answers a month by hand, each naming around five brands in our measurement. And in that same test the top-recommended brand changed between identical runs 35% of the time on ChatGPT and 44% on Gemini, so a single weekly check regularly gives a misleading reading.

What do enterprise AI brand monitoring services cost?

There is no public number. Brandwatch and Talkwalker are fully demo-gated, and Meltwater quotes tailored pricing with stated 12-month minimum contracts. Among self-serve reference points on 13 July 2026, Sight Premium is $999 a month for 500 prompts, and Honeyb Enterprise (ours) is quoted per deployment.

Do annual plans make AI brand monitoring cheaper?

Usually by 15% to 20%. On 13 July 2026 pricing pages: Sight offers 20% off annual, Athena 17%, Dageno 15%, Otterly Lite drops from $29 to $25, and SE Ranking's add-on falls from EUR 79 to EUR 63.20. Check billing terms carefully, as Profound and Writesonic display annual-billed prices as their headline figures.

My name is Matiss Katanenko and I co-founded Honeyb, the AI visibility platform that tracks how ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and the other major AI engines talk about brands. I'm based in Riga, Latvia. Before Honeyb I spent years on the agency side running SEO and content programs for fast-growing brands across the US and Europe. That work is where I watched AI search start to compress the entire discovery channel into a four-brand short list, and decided to build the tool I wished agencies had. In my free time I'm in the sauna, on a padel court, or behind a drum kit.
