Profound and Peec AI are the two names buyers most often put side by side, and AI agrees they belong together: in our test of 160 AI answers on 11 October 2026, Profound was named in 51.0% and Peec AI in 49.7%, third and fourth of the 57 tools we tracked. They are close in fame and far apart in how they are sold. Profound is an enterprise platform whose brand price you learn after a demo. Peec is a self-serve tool with a public price list that starts at $95 a month.
The short verdict: choose Profound if you are a large brand that needs up to nine engines, Prompt Volumes, ChatGPT Shopping data and SOC 2 procurement, and can wait for a contract. Choose Peec AI if you want a clean dashboard with ranked actions this week, three engines are enough, and you want the price on the page. Neither tracks Claude or opens its API below Enterprise. Honeyb is our product and is neither of these two; we say where it fits in a short section near the end.

Facts are from each vendor's own pricing and product pages. Profound's were read on 11 and 12 October 2026. Peec's US dollar prices are from our 10 October read: on 11 October the same page showed our European connection euros (€85, €205 and €425 a month) with no currency switch, so the dollar figures could not be re-checked that day.
Pricing: a contract against a price list
This is the difference that decides most shortlists. Profound's pricing page offers brands a free seven-day trial, 50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews, and then custom Enterprise packages that start with a demo. There is no published brand price and no self-serve plan between the trial and the contract.

Peec prints its prices. Starter is $95 a month for 50 prompts, Pro $245 for 150 and Advanced $495 for 350, each tracked daily on three models with unlimited users. Starter's 50 prompts on three models make 4,500 answers a month, about $0.021 each, which is among the cheapest rates in the category.

Agencies get a published price from both. Profound's Agency Growth plan is $99 a month plus $399 a month for each client workspace, which tracks 100 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews with no API. A Peec Starter account per client tracks 50 prompts on three models for $95. Per tracked prompt that is about $3.99 a month at Profound and $1.90 at Peec; Profound adds agency mode, consolidated billing and pitch workspaces for prospects.
Engines: nine on a contract, three you choose
Profound's Enterprise plan tracks up to nine answer engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, AI Overviews and Exa. Below Enterprise, the trial covers three and the agency workspace three.
Peec's self-serve plans let you pick three models from ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI. Perplexity is sold as an extra model, and Claude, with up to 13 models in all, is on Enterprise. So the honest comparison is three engines against three engines until someone signs a contract, and the question becomes which contract you would rather sign.
Three engines matter because the engines disagree. In our test, ChatGPT named Profound more often than Peec (21 answers of 31 against 19), Google AI Mode and Perplexity leaned slightly to Peec, and Claude named them equally.
Share of the engine's answers
How often each AI engine names Profound and Peec AI
| Item | Profound | Peec AI |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | 67.7% | 61.3% |
| Google AI Mode | 54.8% | 58.1% |
| Gemini | 61.3% | 54.8% |
| Perplexity | 35.5% | 38.7% |
| Claude | 35.5% | 35.5% |
What each does with the data
Both go past a dashboard. Profound's AI Marketer agent and Actions workspace turn findings into content briefs and drafts, and two of its products have no equivalent at Peec: Prompt Volumes, panel data on what real people ask AI platforms, and Shopping visibility for products inside ChatGPT. Reviewers praise the depth and warn about the learning curve; it is built for teams with analysts.

Peec puts its action layer on the cheapest plan: ranked recommended actions, source analytics down to the URL, and a crawlability audit across more than 40 AI bots. Reviewers consistently describe the interface as clean and easy to learn, and every plan has unlimited users, which matters when a whole marketing team wants to look.

What AI says about Profound and Peec AI
We put 32 buyer questions to five engines on 11 October 2026. Leave out the two questions about Profound's and Peec's own alternatives and 150 answers remain. Both tools were named in 53 of them; when they were, Profound came first in 29 and Peec in 24. Profound was named first in an answer 32 times overall against Peec's 15, and was cited as a source 35 times against 25.
The split by question is where the two separate, and it matches the verdict above. On enterprise and API questions, Profound was named in 6 of 10 answers and Peec in 3. On agency questions it reversed: Peec in 5 of 10, Profound in 2. On budget questions both were rare, Peec twice and Profound once, because the engines send small budgets to cheaper tools.
Share of answers naming the tool
Profound and Peec AI by the question a buyer asks
| Item | Profound | Peec AI |
|---|---|---|
| Best tool | 77.5% | 75% |
| Agencies | 20% | 50% |
| Budget and free | 6.7% | 13.3% |
| Enterprise and API | 60% | 30% |
| Alternatives | 86.7% | 73.3% |
| How to track | 20% | 20% |
| Specific feature | 45.7% | 45.7% |
In other words, AI already sorts these two the way a careful buyer would: Profound for the enterprise, Peec for the team that wants to start. Its recommendation measures fame, so treat it as a check on reputation and decide on fit.
How they score on our rubric
The scorecard is the one we publish on the best AI visibility tools: five criteria, each measurable from a public page. Engines on the broadest plan you can buy without a sales call carry 30 points, acting on the gaps 25, price per answer 20, API access 15 and daily refresh 10. The last column is how often the engines named each tool in our test and never feeds the score.
| # | Tool | Engines (30) | Price (20) | API (15) | Acts on gaps (25) | Daily refresh (10) | Score (100) | Named in AI answers |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Honeyb (ours) | 30 | 8 | 15 | 25 | 10 | 88 | 1.9% |
| 2 | Otterly AI | 26 | 20 | 15 | 15 | 10 | 86 | 57.4% |
| 3 | Rankscale | 30 | 14 | 15 | 15 | 10 | 84 | 13.8% |
| 4 | ZipTie | 26 | 20 | 7 | 15 | 10 | 78 | 7.5% |
| 5 | AthenaHQ | 30 | 8 | 7 | 25 | 5 | 75 | 14.4% |
| 6 | Peec AI | 11 | 20 | 7 | 25 | 10 | 73 | 49.7% |
| 7 | Sight | 19 | 14 | 7 | 25 | 5 | 70 | 1.9% |
| 8 | Semrush AI Visibility | 15 | 14 | 15 | 15 | 10 | 69 | 58.1% |
| 9 | SE Ranking | 19 | 20 | 15 | 5 | 10 | 69 | 24.4% |
| 10 | Ahrefs Brand Radar | 26 | 8 | 15 | 5 | 10 | 64 | 34.8% |
| 11 | Scrunch | 15 | 14 | 7 | 15 | 5 | 56 | 21.9% |
| 12 | Profound | 11 | 0 | 7 | 25 | 10 | 53 | 51.0% |
Peec scores 73, sixth of twelve: full marks on price and actions, few points on engines (three of a possible eight) and partial points on the API. Profound scores 53, twelfth, and the reason is narrow. The rubric only credits what a buyer can see and buy without a sales call, so Profound's nine engines and its API count for nothing until the contract is signed, and an unpublished brand price scores zero. For a Fortune 500 team that will sit through the demo anyway, that penalty matters less than it looks.
Who should choose Profound
Choose Profound if you are a large brand with a procurement process and an analytics team, if you need Claude, Copilot and DeepSeek tracked alongside ChatGPT under one contract, or if Prompt Volumes and ChatGPT Shopping answer questions your board is asking. It is the most funded company in the category, at about $155M raised and a $1B valuation after its February 2026 Series C, and SOC 2 Type II with SSO makes the security review short. Accept that you will learn the price on a call.

Who should choose Peec AI
Choose Peec AI if you want to start this week at a price on the page, if your buyers mostly ask ChatGPT and Google, if many people on the team need a seat, or if you track several European markets. It is cheap per answer, its actions arrive on the entry plan, and it costs less per client for an agency. Accept three engines per plan, with Perplexity as an extra and Claude and the API behind an Enterprise contract.
A third option, if neither fits
The gap between these two is a self-serve plan that tracks every engine. That is where Honeyb sits. Full Spectrum is $199 a month for 100 prompts daily on all eight major engines, Claude and Perplexity included, with ranked fixes, a content agent that drafts the page to close a gap, and an AI visibility API at $0.08 per answer with no plan required. It leads our scorecard on 88.
It is also the least famous of the three. AI names Honeyb in 1.9% of answers (3 of 160), its $29 entry plan covers one engine at about $0.097 an answer, the dearest entry rate on the scorecard, and the trial lasts three days with a card. If you need Prompt Volumes or a SOC 2 report, Profound is the better buy; if three engines and a clean dashboard are enough, Peec is.

How we compared
Disclosure first: we build Honeyb, a competitor to both. Neither Profound nor Peec reviewed this page. Prices and features come from each vendor's own pages on the dates given above, as a US visitor sees them; where a page showed us only euros we say so. The scorecard inputs and weights are published, so you can re-weight them.
The AI test. On 11 October 2026 we put 32 buyer questions to ChatGPT (the chatgpt.com answer), Google AI Mode, Gemini 2.5 Flash with Google Search grounding, Perplexity Sonar and Claude Haiku 4.5 with web search, from a US location in English, one answer each: 160 answers. A tool counts as named when its name appears in the answer. The head-to-head figures use the 150 answers to questions that name neither tool, and "first" is whichever name appears earlier in an answer that names both. AI answers vary between identical runs, so treat one answer per engine as a snapshot.
